Relocating to Seattle

Let me help you with...

Relocating to Seattle

Relocating can be very intimidating. Attempting to find the right home, at the right price, and in a neighborhood that checks your boxes in a new city that you are unfamiliar with is a whole different ballgame. This is a really important time to choose a licensed real estate professional from Seattle with great knowledge of the city, like myself, to guide you through the process. I will work right away to get you a list of properties that fit your search preferences and take you out to see homes and neighborhoods in Seattle, create a virtual tour of homes, or FaceTime you as we do home walk throughs together. We will continue our search until we find the home you are dreaming of relocating to!

       All of the possibilities…

how it works...

THE RELOCATING PROCESS

01
Find a local real estate agent

Working with someone from Seattle who can guide you and give you information about the Seattle housing market and neighborhoods, schools, and amenities is key.

02
Get your financial ducks in a row

Do you need to sell your current home before you move to Seattle? Take care of that before home hunting if you are going to need the proceeds to buy a new home. Meet with a mortgage broker from Seattle and get preapproved.

03
House hunting

Work with me to find homes that fit your preferences and needs. We will tour local homes and neighborhoods to see what's available.  Viewing homes from a distance is possible as well.

04
make an offer

We found the perfect home! Woohoo! Now we fill out put together an offer and negotiate  the price and terms. I can guide you from a distance on all of this.

05
Home Inspection and Appraisal

A home inspection is key to checking for any problems with the home before you close. Similarly, the lender will want the home checked to confirm that the home value is in line with the purchase price.

06
Repairs or Credits

After the inspection and appraisal come in, it's time to ask for repairs or credit towards making repairs. If the appraisal doesn't line up with what is needed, we will need to negotiate to make it work.

07
final walkthrough

Confirm that repairs were made, the home has been cleared out, and double check that everything looks good before close.  We can do this virtually if needed.

08
close

It's time to wrap up the closing! Sign all of the documents, square away final costs, and sign the mortgage and deed. Finally, you will be handed the keys to your new home. Congrats!

Got Questions?

About Relocating and Buying in Seattle?

YES!! This is your very first step in your home buying process. This gives you a chance to map out your finances and figure out what your price range will be when home searching. It also allows your mortgage process to be ahead of the game when it’s time to submit an offer and be approved for a mortgage.

Absolutely! An agent has valuable market knowledge to help you make decisions. They are also able to help you navigate the documents, terms, and processes while making offers and purchasing a home.

Having an expert guide you through everything and give their objective information and opinions can really help keep things less stressful as well.

They are also a trusted person who will negotiate for your best interests when the time comes to buy! Seattle is a seller’s market and that means you may be one of many offers on the same property. A Seattle Real Estate Agent knows the market and has the knowledge and skills to make your offer stand out as much as possible!

Lastly, an agent will continue to keep up to date on homes in the market and be keeping a search going for you.

Typically, the seller pays commission to your broker. Sometimes that is not the case, but that’s rare.

Mortgage rates change regularly. For current rates, check with your mortgage lender. If you would like to get an estimate of what you will pay on a 30yr mortgage right now, you can visit this mortgage calculator
